So, basically I forgot I had a blog...
The last few months have been busy and interesting. I have adjusted to being a mother of two (on most days) and, aside from my youngest not sleeping, I feel like I have come out of the new baby fog and am a normal human being again! I am not sure how it happened so fast, but Yohan is almost 6 months old and Elijah celebrated his 5th birthday while we were in California.
My husband had field camp for 5 weeks so the boys and I spent some time at my sister's place and then headed to stay with my parents back home. They were a HUGE help while he was gone and I will forever be thankful for the special time we got to spend with them and and in-laws. Mike met us back in CA and we were able to celebrate our 7th anniversary, spend a ton of time swimming, reconnecting with old and dear friends, and we had a blast at Sea World! I also did a Color Me Rad 5k with a friend I have had since 6th grade! We ended up being gone for 2 months to the day and while it was sad to leave our friends and parents, it felt good to come back.
Oh ya, and I spent a whole lot of time with my little one in a hammock as it was the only way to get him to fall asleep for WEEKS
Now that we are back Mike is back to working on his thesis and finishing up his Masters and the boys and I have had fun days with friends and some not so fun days when naps don't last more than 20 minutes. This past weekend we went camping in honor of my lovely sister in law's birthday! Our dear friend's from here in town came too and it was such a good time! Eating, hammocking, hiking, and more eating! I can hardly wait to do it again!
The birthday girl and my brother in law!
Hammocks, babies, and one of my best friends!
My sweet family that I am so, so thankful for!
So that was my summer... and tomorrow we start a whole new adventure: Homeschool! And on the week I decided to take a break from caffeine!
Wish me luck...
